About Us

Our life consists of many individual stories. We speak every day with our customers, dealers, employees, friends and partners - and keep hearing new stories about bicycles coming from a diverse, wide world. For this colorful world and its people, we build bikes - and many different types of them. For the new season of 2012, we have created extremely athletiv hi-tech bikes, with entirely new frames, functions and features. But also functional bikes with the best and safest equipment for every day, for getting to work, university, school or just for fun in your leisure time. At Bergamont, there's a bike for everybody so everyone can ride his or her own distinct history. And - something very important to us - at the fairest price. This is how our company becomes increasingly more international. Meanwhile, we sell our bicycles in many different countries, but our heart continues to beat in Hamburg's lively Schanzen Quarter where our story began 18 years ago. Our Frames

A constant challenge for our engineers. An example: our full suspension Evolve: At the Technical University Hamburg-Harburg, the frame is calculated using a computer model to simulate its strength under practical operating conditions, such as hard braking, or extreme jumping. Finished prototypes are subjected to rigorous functional tests under static and dynamic continuous load at the EFBE Institute for Test Engineering. And the finish is impressive too: Bergamot frames are skillfully hand welded with solid beads.

Our Bikes

Bergamot bikes are built only under the direct and personal supervision of our experienced engineers. This is the only way to keep the error rate low and the quality high. The assembly begins with an elaborate, six layers of paint on the frame, which is finished more and more with a maximum-impact, clear powder coating. The assembly of the wheels and selection of parts take place precisely according to detailed Bergamot specifications.
